Have you met Maddy?
AbilityPLUS has been a part of our life for nearly 5 years providing our daughter, Maddy, with the ability to ski. As a mother, my hope for my children is to enjoy all that life has to offer. When presented with a child who would not be able to participate in sports in the same way the rest of the family was able to, AbilityPLUS stepped up to provide us with the ability to modify her ski-ing experience and allow her to ski.
Like her sisters, Maddy started skiing at 2 years old. Unlike her sisters, she didn’t fumble while walking in her skis or cross her ski tips. Instead, Maddy was carefully strapped into her sit ski and off she went, so comfortable and secure she even fell asleep!
Maddy has been making progress in all aspects of her life, skiing is no different. Maddy has gone from a little girl who fell asleep in the sit ski to a big girl who kicks her feet demanding to “get going” when she has waited too long.
A girl who won a gold medal in her first race! Most of all a child who enjoys skiing just as much as her sisters. Seeing her smiles, hear-ing her giggles, and watching her interactions with her coaches is heartwarming. Our goals for Maddy have been to participate in every as-pect of our lives and because of AbilityPLUS, she is able to.
