Alaine Breen is a CPA, business owner and mom. Alaine began her public accounting career at Deloitte, leaving there in 1990 to join her father in their family run CPA practice where she became the managing partner in 2001. A graduate of Suffolk and Bentley Universities, her extensive experience with the operational and financial aspects of small businesses and nonprofit organizations gives her a great perspective as a member of the board of directors.
Alaine became involved with AbilityPLUS when her then 7 year old son on the autism spectrum started as a program participant. The year he turned 12, he “graduated” from AbilityPLUS and joined the Attitash Seasonal Program, skiing every weekend right along with a dozen typical peers. Seeing the strides he made with focused ski instruction – strides made both on and off the mountain – and seeing how other families’ lives were so positively impacted through their experiences with the organization resulted in her volunteering at the operational level for several years before joining the board.
Alaine has long loved the Mt Washington Valley area. This four season outdoor playground is full of opportunities to develop adaptive participation in so many recreational activities at all levels. She is thrilled to be able to work toward developing those opportunities for participants and their families.
Alaine enjoys alpine and Nordic skiing, hiking in all seasons and watching her son achieve things no one ever thought he would.
